John Chow is at it again. As one of the most successful bloggers ever, he is again giving away a prize on his blog. This time it’s an Apple iPad.
This contest is sponsored by Urban Data. Urban Data gives you tons of information about any website on the web. Check out my results.
I’m entering this contest by making a blog post about it. I’d love to have an Apple iPad because right now all I have is a first generation iPod Touch. Unfortunately the first generation Touch doesn’t have an external speaker and it’s only 16GB in size. An iPad is perfect for watching all the video podcasts I enjoy as well as running music apps and a much better way to surf the mobile web.
Want to win it? Blog about the contest on your own site, follow @UrbanDataDotCom on Twitter and tweet the following:
Hey! @johnchow and @urbandatadotcom are giving away an Apple iPad! Find out how to enter here: http://xr.com/urbancontest #urbancontest
Good luck bloggers!

Summer is finally here in California and to celebrate, I want to give one lucky person a case of XS Energy Drink. Entering the contest is easy, but let me explain what you could win.
What is XS Energy Drink?
XS Energy Drink was created by a southern california duo that wanted a healthier alternative to the sugary energy drinks and sodas that are everywhere in stores these days. The main competitor is Red Bull (which now has a sugar free version, mainly due to XS!).
In September 2002, XS made an exclusive distribution agreement with Amway Global that changed the future for this energy drink which now generates $120 million annually in sales. Read the FAQ here.
Why Am I Giving Away A Case?
I drink one or two of these drinks a day to help me get going in the morning and keep me going throughout the day. I don’t drink coffee and I don’t drink sugary drinks like Monster or Red Bull because I hate the “coming down” effect all that sugar has. Most people call this a “crash”. XS is also loaded with B-Vitamins and amino acids which help your muscles and keep you alert. As a by product, XS is a natural bug repellent because of the B-Vitamins.
I am so sure that you will like these drinks, I’m giving one case (12, 8.4oz cans) of your choice away to a lucky winner (approx retail value up to $35).
There are several ways to enter.
- The easiest way is to comment on this post which earns you 1 entry.
- The second way is to follow us on twitter and tweet the following: I just entered to win a case of XS Energy Drink (http://bit.ly/5DLtB) from @flagusco. Read about the contest here: http://bit.ly/kYDJZ.
This will earn you 2 entries.
- The third way, and in my opinion the best way is to order a case for yourself, and you’ll earn 5 entries. To qualify for the 5 entries and to verify you have actually ordered, you must use the contact form on this site and paste your order receipt in the body of the form. All orders must be verified.
You can earn a total of 8 entries if you use all three methods above. All entries will be placed into random.com and one winner will be chosen on July 1st so enter today!
On a side note, if you are interested in making money selling XS, contact me about becoming an Independent Business Owner with Amway Global.

If you are anything like me, and I know you are because you are reading this post, you have probably filled up your hard drive with all kinds of stuff like games, videos, movies, pictures or any number of documents that clutter up your precious disk space.
You could back up a lot of those photos and videos to an external hard drive manually, or you could leave it to Drobo. Drobo is a device manufactured by Data Robotics (Get it? Data ROBOtics) that enables you to have nearly infinite storage for your files via an external box. Find out more about DROBO here.
I, for one could really use a lot of space for my photos and videos these days. To that end, I want to win one and you can try and win one also.
There’s two ways to do this. The first way is to link to http://mydl.me/2009/03/want-to-win-a-free-drobo/ which will automatically get you an entry into their giveaway.
The second way to enter is to follow Scott Bourne on Twitter at http://twitter.com/scottbourne. He’s giving them away pretty frequently and there’s only 6 more left to win.
Maybe I’ll get really lucky and win 2 and then I can give one away.

Today, UPS dropped off the MSI Wind Notebook I won last week. MSI decided to hold a contest for valentines day. It was the easiest contest I ever entered. All I had to do was upload a photo of my valentine. In this case, my wife and 2 year old son.
I completely forgot I even entered and then last week I got an email that said I was one of the winners. Lo and behold it showed up today along with a hers and his USB thumb drive set.
Now normally, I would turn around and give this thing away to a lucky subscriber but my wife actually wants to use this one, so you’re out of luck.
You can however pick one up for yourself for around $500 which isn’t bad considering what you get.

John Chow and XR.com have a contest going right now where you can win $6,000.00. Here’s the deal. XR.com gave $5,000 to John Chow after Chow made a blog post about the XR.com service. XR was so happy with the publicity they gave Chow a check for $5,000.00.
John immediately turned around and donated that money to charity. Richard Lau decided that he would help one of John Chow’s readers win cash for the charity of their choice and $1,000.00 for themselves.
The rules are simple.
First, sign up for an account at XR.com (it’s free and a great service for Tiny Url creation).
Next, make a blog post about the contest linking to John’s blog post and a link to XR.com like I have here. The words Tiny Url are preferred because that’s exactly the service XR.com offers. Make sure to include where you will donate the money and what you plan to do with your portion of the prize.
The winner will be drawn on December 27th at Dot Com Pho (the weekly lunch John holds with his dot com crew in Vancouver).
If I win, I’ll be donating the $5,000.00 to my local Habitat for Humanity. They build homes for the poor and underprivelaged all over the world. It’s one of my favorite charities along with The United Way which I already donate to on a monthly basis.
As for the $1,000.00 I’ll be putting that into buying a new bed. Ours is just about seen the end of days and we badly need a bed with a headboard.

Whenever I see worthy contests, I like to enter them. To date, I’ve won an Apple iPod touch 16 GB , a copy of An American Hedge Fund: How I Made $2 Million as a Stock Operator & Created a Hedge Fund by Timothy Sykes, as well as a couple small cash prizes and free advertising on some blogs.
Right now, TechTod is giving away $225 in cash and a Sony Digi-cam. All the details for entering can be found at TechTod. The contest runs until November 25 at which time 3 winners will be chosen. The more entries you have the better your chances of winning!
