The winners have been announced in the $11,000.00 contest held at General Marketing Blog. I donated a $25 Visa Gift Card as a prize and the winner of that prize goes to Indocontest. As soon as Indocontest contacts me (I have emailed him/her already) I will be sending the card out.

Contests are a great way to generate buzz and traffic to your site. They let people know that you are willing to give back to the community that supports you. You also don’t have to run your own contest. By donating to someone else’s contest you gain other exposure and valuable backlinks which can help your search engine rankings and SEO efforts.

Although it’s nice to be able to award a big prize like an iPod touch or Playstation 3, the truth is most people are happy winning anything! I’ve given away books, Starbucks Cards, and now a Visa card. They didn’t break my bank and they make other people happy and hopefully loyal readers.
