I’m following a flock of sheep. It’s true, well, not literally…I’ve decided to add a new advertising space up at the top of this blog.

Oh you noticed that already? Well good, that was the point. I know you are seeing this one everywhere, but in today’s market, the more you can control your own monetization the better off you are in the long run. Affiliate programs are great and all, but unless you are getting steady sales, the advertising costs can go overboard extremely fast. Trust me, I know first hand.

So why put up this ad-stripe? Well, the space is for sale. It’s cheap too.

Right now I have 5 spots open at $15 a month. You can reserve as much time as you want up to a year. Simply email the payment (via paypal), ad text and length of time for the ad to display to billing@wilcox-studios.com and your ad will go up as soon as I confirm receipt of payment.

You’ve seen this system on the likes of John Chow and John Cow and probably a dozen other websites. John Chow sells his space for $250 a month…of course he has about 200 times more traffic than I do which is why you see the difference in price. What I can tell you is, this pricing isn’t going to stay this way. Million Dollar Portfolio is getting about 2000 unique hits a month and I expect RSS subscriber growth to double or triple in the coming months so get in while the gettin’ is cheap.
