Today I found out some very sad and sobering news.  My good friend has Lung Cancer.  We don’t know how bad it is yet, but they did bone tests to determine if and/or how far it has spread.

Earlier this week we rushed him to the Emergency Room because he was complaining about chest pains and trouble breathing and I thought he might be having heart attack symptoms.  The next day they determined there was a mass in his chest about the size of an apple.  CT Scans and an X-Ray and ultimately a biopsy determined the mass to be Cancerous.

He has started Chemotherapy this evening and is expected to go home Friday.

I have added a widget to this site which you will find in the right sidebar called ChipIn and I am asking that my wonderful readers put aside their hang-ups and donate money to help pay for his hospital stay and chemotherapy treatments.  Every little bit helps.

Ruben is one of my closest friends and the Godfather of my newborn son and I would like to be able to help him in his most important time of need.

I am reaching out to the internet in the hope that there are enough kind and generous people in this world that are willing to donate something even as small as a dollar to help a fellow human being.
