This is no joke. It’s a contest being run by Gary Lee on his Internet Marketing blog. You could win a free iPhone.

So why mention this here? Because for me to enter the contest, I have to write about it. So here we are. Besides running MrGaryLee.com he is also working on a new project site about Golf Equipment.

He’s really giving one away. Since they are all sold out, like the Nintendo Wii, you can only get one from ebay or craigslist, or now…from Gary.

I’m not one to jump on technology bandwagons unless it furthers my gaming prowess or positively results in some monetary gain. I see most devices and even consoles for that matter a waste if you are spending far above retail value just to be the first on your block to own it. I just don’t play that game. I didn’t even own an mp3 player, let alone and iPod until the iPod Photo was released…and i’ll tell you why. As soon as I bought the iPod Photo 40GB model (which by the way you can’t find anymore) Apple announced they were making a video ipod not 3 weeks later. However, I am mostly satisfied with my iPod Photo because I travel a lot and it allows me to listen to several podcasts and my entire music library.

With the new Apple iPhone hitting the streets, people are once again freaking out trying to get one. Some people even going so far as to wait in line for other people, at a cost of course. All this for a cell phone. Leave it to Apple to make even most mundane device a must have. Long gone are the days of the “killer app” where it was all a company could do to develop a software program that did everything better than the next guy. Apple has figured out how to make must-own devices.
