Today I got my first signup.
I was able to convince my good friend that downloading the toolbar was a good idea since he surfs the net all the time anyway. I think I am going to use this approach with a few other friends and see if they do it.
If you found this blog because you were searching for AGLOCO, which is short for A Global Community, then welcome. I hope you find this blog interesting and entertaining. It’s a growing blog as I have only been writing on it for about a month. As I write more and my experiment comes more to fruition I expect revenues to increase as well.
Speaking of revenue. I bought another lottery ticket today. This time it was “Poker Night” and I won a free ticket. So I am adding $3 to the total experiment earnings.
It’s been a slow month for the Million Dollar Experiment but I have been saying the Million Dollar Mantra as often as I can and I still believe it works. That is the key is it not? Simply believeing in yourself and what you are capable of can take you to heights unknown.

John Chow is giving away a couple games on his website JohnChow.com.
All you need to do is comment on the post and your name is entered into the random drawing. I’m posting about it here because there were so many comments, the form just wouldn’t come up for me. That being said, a trackback post about the giveaway also counts as an entry.
John is a smart guy, he runs alot of these contests and it generates traffic, which in turn generates revenue from advertisements. What a way to make money online!
I plan on doing the same thing as soon as I win that Zune player from MsDanielle

There is an article in the San Francisco Chronicle today about the iPhone. It’s not your usual article though. This is about people willing to stand in line for anywhere from $100 to $300 to hold your place this Thursday and Friday so you can nab the hottest item Apple has invented since the original iPod.
Is it worth it? Consider the people buying the new iPhone are already spending $500 for the phone itself, so what’s another $100 on top of that to ensure a spot in line? You could make out like a bandit here! Jon May who came up with the idea has made t-shirts that say “iWait” to let people know what he is doing. So far, his ad in Craigslist has had no response but he says he will be waiting in line anyway hoping for some takers.
So head to your nearest Apple store and start making some money!

So after nearly a month of linking AGLOCO signup URLs and spreading the link around my network…I have zero signups. I personally blame it on John Chow! Yes, he must have taken all my signups…that’s gotta be it.
Actually, the truth is probably that I just don’t get much traffic on this blog yet. Since it’s such a young blog and because the purpose behind the blog itself is a little odd…maybe that’s why I’m not getting anyone to sign up using my AGLOCO ID.
Then again, even if I had thousands of people sign up like they have on JohnChow.com it doesn’t guarantee that everyone that signs up is going to download and use the AGLOCO toolbar which is what the point of the whole thing is. John has an interesting post about it.
I love experimenting with different kinds of monetization tools for blogs because it always takes a while to find just the right mix. Google Adsense is always a staple but some people respond differently to different ad systems. Of course, you always want to make sure they work with your blog…not every blog lends itself to advertising, nor should it.
AGLOGO seems like a cool thing in terms of monitizing the use of the internet because it’s a pooled effort. You can only rack up 5 hours of viewing time on your own so the key really is to get as many people using it as possible. So if you haven’t done so already, sign up here and then go download the viewbar. You should be able to get the viewbar much more easily now as it’s being hosted by TuCows.

I was shocked to see how much weight Rachel Ray has gained recently with her appearance on the daytime emmy awards.
Maybe it’s the new found celebrity she is experiencing…maybe it’s all the hustle and bustle of producing 3 shows simultaneously and travelling all around the globe (tough work, I guess) shooting her “40 Dollars A Day” show. Maybe, just maybe…she’s eating all the greasy food she makes on TV.
Having gained a considerable amount of weight myself over the years, in 2006 I decided that 234 lbs was unhealthy for me. I used to be a svelt 175 back when I was bike racing. I probably even weighed less than that…but the point is last year I joined weight watchers and have since not only shed 15.8 lbs, I have kept it off. I absolutely refuse to gain that weight back. There’s nothing like realizing you aren’t carrying a few extra 5lb bags of flour around your midsection anymore. My knees stopped hurting, I can breathe much better now and for the most part I sleep much better.
Imagine my surprise to see Rachel Ray on the daytime emmy awards presenting and how much weight she has gained. I realize the television puts on a few extra pounds visually, but…did you see her? In general I don’t think your hips are supposed to be wider than your shoulders…that’s usually a really bad sign.
I really don’t like being critical of other people like this, but there’s a reason I am saying all this.

Ms Danielle is giving away a brand spankin new Zune player. That’s right, she’s giving it away…in a contest. MsDanielle has a cool site about marketing, blogging, making money online and lots of other things and she loves the color pink!
So how do you win this prize? It’s simple, just check out her blog site and you can find out all the nitty gritty details. I already own an Apple iPod 40GB Photo version but if I won the Zune, guess what? I’d be giving away my iPod. Probably in the same fashion. I like to call it karma you know, what comes around goes around.
As for my million dollar experiment, there’s nothing more to report today. Yesterday I gave half of my lottery win to my godson for graduating fifth grade. He’s a good kid and I thought he might be able to do something fun this summer with some of his money.
Anyway, get on over to Ms Danielle’s blog already and try to win this Zune player!
